Connect Shopify from the App Store
Install the app, approve permissions and synchronize the connection in Wavize.
Updated 7 August 2026App Store installation is the recommended Shopify flow
When Wavize is installed from Shopify, OAuth authorization links the store to the account, encrypts renewable tokens and provisions the store connection. Connection source appears as Shopify App Store and may be activated without manually re-entering a token.
This flow differs from an old custom app with a static token. New Shopify apps use the developer dashboard and renewable token flows; Wavize must handle these secrets server-side.
Expected domain
Store identifier is the permanent domain ending exactly in .myshopify.com, not merely your custom storefront domain.
Install and authorize Wavize
Start from the official listing or Wavize install link while signed in as the correct Shopify administrator.
Choose the correct store
If your account manages several stores, check name and myshopify domain before accepting. Installing on a test store does not connect production.
Review permissions
Wavize needs the app-defined access required to read catalogue and handle order tracking. Do not manually add unrequested scopes and never send app secrets to support.
Complete redirect
After approval, let the browser return to Wavize. Closing before callback may leave a Shopify installation without a finalized client account.
Validate account, plan and App Embed
Successful Shopify authorization is not enough when the widget is disabled in the theme or the plan is inactive.
Existing or new account
Sign in to the Wavize account linked to the store or complete the flow created by installation. Avoid creating a second account with another email.
Shopify plan
Plan selection and billing follow the app-presented flow. Check status in Wavize and Shopify before testing the public widget.
App Embed enabled
In Shopify theme editor, open App embeds, enable Wavize and save. App installation without an active embed may connect the catalogue while leaving the widget invisible.
Test commerce features without exposing an order
Wavize uses the Admin API server-side. The browser must never receive the Shopify token.
Catalogue
Ask for an existing product type and check name, price, image, variant and link. Wavize connection test also queries the store name through GraphQL.
Protected order tracking
Use a test order and its exact email. Wavize requires reference plus email and returns a neutral result on mismatch to avoid revealing another customer’s order.
Uninstall and renewal
Uninstalling or revoking invalidates access. Reinstall through the official flow rather than pasting an old token; Shopify webhooks also maintain installation state.
Expected result in Wavize
The connection should be identified as App Store sourced and match the installed store.
- Active store — Only one commerce connection is active for the account.
- Valid test — Store name is retrieved without asking the client for a secret.
- Published widget — App Embed is saved on the actually published theme.
